Mobile phone seller Clove has opened up the pre-ordering for the successor to last year’s bestselling Samsung handset, in the Galaxy S II mobile phone – starting at £612 for the 16GB version and £708 for the 32GB model.
The two Galaxy S II’s arrival dates haven’t been confirmed as yet, although the new handset is set to be another best seller for Samsung with the first handset selling over 10 million units.
Samsung’s GT-I9100 Galaxy S II has a similar look to the original phone, only with a larger 4.3-inch 480x800 WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen and thinner 8.9mm body.
The Galaxy S replacement runs from a dual-core 1Ghz processor, with Android ‘Gingerbread’ 2.3 and the new TouchWiz 4.0 overlay to the platform.
Built-in is an 8 megapixel camera that’s capable of 1080p video recording and playback, a significant increase from the 5 MP variant on the first handset that only featured 720p video capture with the upgrade to Froyo.
The previous handset only came with either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, where the increase in capacity of the Galaxy S II will be a welcomed addition to the successor of the first phone with them both being expandable through a microSD card.
