Siemens Enterprise Communications Offers Cloud-Based Unified Communications Solution

Siemens Enterprise Communications has delivered a new cloud-based unified communications platform for large enterprises and small and medium-sized businesses.

The new OpenScape Cloud Solutions will offer a wide range of cloud-based unified communication and collaboration tools. The company explained that the product combines its OpenScape Voice, UC and Web Collaboration solutions which are hosted on data centres.

Some of the products offered under OpenScape Cloud Solutions include; the OpenScape Mobile UC Client for Android, which is designed to allow users to transfer calls to IP phones by merely swiping across the screen and the OpenScape Office V3, which allows workers in SMBs to remain connected.

The company's Enterasys Networks division has also released a solution that lets organisations outsource the management of wireless networks.

All the cloud based UC solutions being offered under OpenScape will be available via Siemens channel partners, the company said.

Mark Straton, the senior vice president of global solutions marketing for Siemens, said in a statement to Channel Insider, “We believe it will be very attractive to the channel partners because it gives them a recurring, highly profitable revenue stream. If you think about what’s happened over the past couple of years, that’s a very appealing value proposition to our channel partners, and frankly to our end-user customers.”
