Apple announces iOS 4.3

New mobile OS, just in time for a new tablet

Computer and software manufacturer Apple has announced the latest mobile OS in version 4.3 of their iOS, at the same event that launched the iPad 2.

Apple's iOS 4.3 brings into the platform a better performing Safari web browser, with the Nitro JavaScript engine that has been incorporated from the desktop version. Another part of the update is iTunes home sharing, which allows access to movies, music and TV shows directly over WIFI.

There are also improvements surrounding AirPlay for streaming to an Apple TV product, with sharing of photos along with a slideshow option and a personal hotspot feature for the Apple iPhone 4 on five devices that can be made up from Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB.

4.3 also delivers more functionality to the iPad switch for quickly muting or locking the rotation of the device, where there’s an iMove HD video editing application and the GarageBand music synthesiser and sampler app for the tablet.

Apple's 4.3 iOS is due out on March 11th, for the iPad, iPhone and the 3rd and 4th generations of the iPod touch.
