Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini Appears In Leaked 3 UK Document

A leaked document has shown yet another Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy S2 Mini, which was not launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last February; the device will complement the Galaxy S and the Galaxy S II.

Engadget somehow managed to get its hands on the Spring-Summer internal brochure from 3 UK and the latter shows that both handsets will be launched in April.

The document however goes beyond a simple listing; it classifies each smartphone according to a tier, confirms each one's credit scoring and perhaps more importantly, how much each vendor wants to spend in terms of ATL (Above the line) marketing (i.e. advertising).

The S2 Mini is considered to be a high end handset that has a 3.7-inch WVGA screen, a 5-megapixel camera, a front facing webcam, LED flash, Android Gingerbread, a 1.4GHz processor (faster than the 1.2GHz model on the Samsung Galaxy S II), Wi-Fi, GPS and HD video recording capabilities.

A few notes here; the specifications lead us to believe that Samsung has identified HTC as a potential threat; the Galaxy S2 Mini has almost the same specification as the HTC Desire S bar the faster processor which we believe is an unannouned Exynos SoC.

Speaking of processor, we don't know of any smartphones on the market that have a 1.4GHz system on chip; the HTC Flyer has a dual core model running at 1.5GHz but it is a tablet.
