Apple has brought out a new application for the iPhone which allows users to view every advertisement ever published using its iAds platform.
The iAd Gallery app, touted as a 'celebration of advertising', allows users to view all those much-loved iAd campaigns Apple has presented on iOS.
One reviewer commented, “Tired of apps getting in the way of your adds? There’s an app for that!”
The app, which gets regularly updated with new ads, will let users browse ads on the basis of advertiser, category, or feature. The iAd Gallery comes with a spinning wheel like scroller which lets users browse ads at random. Users are also able to 'love' a particular ad and add it to their 'loved' section.
According to the company, the app will also allow users to get background information on the featured iAds and learn more about the advertising companies behind them.
“The iAd Gallery is a celebration of advertising, featuring iAd campaigns from some of the world's best brands and their advertising agencies. The iAd Gallery gives you easy access to a selection of the fun and informative ads that have run in some of your favorite apps,” Apple said.
The bizarre manner in which Apple is promoting its mobile advertisement platform is a part of the company's efforts to make it more accessible to users and advertisers alike.
