A new product from Sony Ericsson called Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro, was recently revealed apparently unintentionally by the company.
According to sources, the device, spotted in Sony Ericsson's PC Companion software in Japan, pretty much looks like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, and also runs on the Android platform.
According to XperiaBlog, the website responsible for this revelation, it is suggested that the device will be equipped with NFC technology, a 4.2 inch touch screen, a 8.1 megapixel Exmor R camera and 1 GHz processor.
There is still a fair amount of confusion amongst the Xperia enthusiasts all over the world. While many believe that the acro is the Japanese edition of the Xperia Arc, there are also those who suggest that this new device could well be the successor to the Arc, with a number of new, advanced features. Which of these two possibilities is the case is yet to be confirmed by the company.
However, a closer look at the screenshots available on the XperiaBlog clearly indicates that there are two versions of the acro- IS11S and SO-02C.
It is still not known whether Sony accidentally leaked the device or it was an intentional move and a part of their strategy. The new handset is expected to be released in May or June 2011 according to XperiaBlog.
