HTC Desire S Launches On Three UK
Three UK has finally announced the launch of the HTC Desire S smartphone on its network for as little as £35 per month on its "One Plan" offer.
The phone will come with 200 minutes, 5000 texts, unlimited skype-to-skype calls and truly unlimited, internet with included tethering for £35 per month on a two year contract.
The Desire S - which was announced at the Mobile World Congress - will also be available on PAYG for £360. As the heir to the HTC Desire, it does have a lot in common with its predecessor.
That includes a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Bluetooth, 512MB RAM and the same five-megapixel camera with LED.
As for the improvements, there's Android 2.3, 4GB internal storage supplemented by a microSD card reader, support for Near Field Communication like the Nexus S and a slightly thinner chassis.
We criticised HTC previously for not adding enough to the HTC Desire when upgrading to the HTC Desire S as the former (as well as the very capable Samsung Galaxy S) can be had on extremely cheap mobile contracts (under £20) and on very affordable PAYG packages.
Three will also sell the HTC Wildfire S and the HTC ChaCha, two other handsets that will complement its existing HTC Range.
