Amazon has launched a new update for its Kindle for Android app on Thursday which offers an extended support for Android 3.0 Honeycomb based tablets.
The update comes with a brand-new integrated shopping feature designed particularly for tablets, including the Motorola Xoom. It also introduces a fresh Honeycomb-centric interface for e-papers and e-zines, and other similar advanced features suitable for taking a better advantage of the larger screen.
Dorothy Nicholls, director of Amazon Kindle, said in a statement, "We've taken all the features customers love about Kindle for Android, and created a beautiful new user interface and a seamless shopping experience tailored to the look and feel of Honeycomb tablets".
The integrated shopping feature will offer immediate access to product reviews by users as well as product recommendations, while the e-zine and e-paper updates will feature coloured images.
With this new update, users can now pause and resume downloads at any moment according to their needs. Some other additional features brought by this update are, an inbuilt dictionary containing more than 250,000 definitions in it as well as the additional support for German language.
The app is available for free download in the Android Market.
