Foxconn workers arrested over iPad 2 leaks

Four workers from Apple's manufacturing partner Foxconn were reportedly arrested following the leak of iPad 2 case components.

The unnamed employees have now been charged with violating the company's trade secrets after allegedly sneaking parts out of the Taiwanese factory and selling them to Chinese peripheral manufacturers.

Apple and Foxconn's parent company Hon Hai Precision Industry got wind of the leak after protective cases for the second coming of the tablet computer appeared for sale by a number of online retailers long before the official release of the gadget.

Chinese language web site SZ News reports that the arrests originally took place in December 2010 after local police were alerted but it has taken until now for the charges to be formalised.
