Just over one month ago, the iPad 2 was launched in the UK and as expected, stocks were quasi nonexistent with most national retailers like the Carphone Warehouse reporting chronic shortages.
Unfortunately, even five weeks after the launch of the tablet, stocks are still very low with Apple reporting up to two weeks delay in the delivery of all 12 of the iPad 2 stock keeping units.
Carphone Warehouse, Tesco, Best Buy, Misco, Viking Direct, Currys, Argos and Comet have sold out of all the iPad 2 SKUs and some are reporting up to four weeks waiting time. You will be able to get the most expensive iPad 2 from John Lewis (64GB 3G in white).
Apple changed the delivery window for the iPad 2 from six weeks to two weeks nearly two weeks ago, and it seems that supply is still having a hard time catching up with demand and competitors are finding it equally hard to provide a suitable alternative to the iPad 2.
Should you still crave an iPad 2 and want one ASAP, you can either get one from Expansys, albeit at a VERY steep premium, or from Ebay.
Alternatively, it is worth considering buying an older version of the iPad which are being heavily discounted by the likes of Currys and Viking-direct.
