Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Division has become a certified provider of SAP’s global cloud based solutions.
The company has become officially certified to offer SAP’s cloud based IT solutions and services on its HP Hybrid Delivery Cloud Services platform.
The formal certification acts as an assurance for customers deploying HP hardware based on SAPs enterprise offering.
HP said that SAP customers on the company’s hardware will benefit from increased flexibility, rapid provisioning and a highly reliable architecture.
The company said that SAP certification covers a range of HP’s services including application hosting, cloud management, disaster recovery and networking.
"The race to the cloud is causing many cloud service providers to offer Infrastructure as a Service, but leave service levels and risk management to their resource-strapped clients," said Kathy Garcia, senior vice president, Applications, HP Enterprise Services in a statement.
"With this certification, HP can deliver SAP solutions via the cloud with increased flexibility and rapid provisioning, resulting in lower costs and less risk for companies to consume the full benefits of enterprise applications." she added.
HP can be seen as warming up with SAP after it had a spat with its rival Oracle recently. HP and Oracle have been on the warpath ever since Oracle criticised HP’s decision to fire Mike Hurd. Oracle had immediately appointed Hurd as its president.
