The HTC Sensation has been put on preorder, as a SIM free handset, at Play.com for £499.99 and is due to be released on the 30th of June 2011 according to the phone's product page.
Two other online retailers, Clove and Expansys, will sell the Sensation although they have yet to say how much it will cost. Clove specified that the phone will be coming on the 10th of June.
Mobile phone operator Vodafone has also announced that it will sell the handset from the 19th of May and users can already preorder the phone for £35 per month with 900 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB data and a few more goodies.
The Sensation is HTC's current top of the range model and will be the one pitched against the iPhone 5 and the raft of other dual core smartphones that will flood the market later this year.
The phone comes with a qHD display with Gorilla Glass and with a 4.3-inch diagonal, a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, the MSM8260 clocked at 1.2GHz, 768MB RAM, 1GB internal storage and an eight megapixel rear facing and 2-megapixel front facing camera.
The phone uses Google Android Gingerbread with HTC Sense User interface and should be a compelling alternative to the other smartphones on the market until the Apple iPhone 5 lands.
