T-Mobile Drops Pricing Bombshell With Sub-£30 HTC Sensation

T-Mobile, it seems, is throwing down the gauntlet as it takes on Three and Talkmobile to become the best value mobile network in the UK; it has already managed to book the latest HTC Sensation handset for under £30 per month on a two year contract.

The device, which can be pre-ordered from buymobilephones.net, comes with a £35 automatic cashback and a total cost of ownership of just over £700.

For the price, you get 900 minutes, 500 texts and unlimited data booster, once you go over your limit, you will only be able to access web and email email traffic; altogether a pretty decent deal with a top notch handset.

The Sensation was formerly known as the Pyramid and has been dubbed a superphone rather than a mere smartphone.

It builds on the popular HTC Desire HD by upping the screen resolution to 960x540 pixels, swapping the old single core Qualcomm SoC for a brand new dual core one clocked at 1.2GHz, adding a front facing camera and upgrading from Froyo to Gingerbread.

The amount of onboard memory and storage disappointingly remain the same at 768MB and 1GB respectively but unlike the iPhone 4, you can still increase the latter using a microSD card.

The HTC Sensation is currently on preorder at Play.com for £500, which means that the T-Mobile deal only adds £200 or so over and above the price of the SIM-free handset.
