Hitachi and virtualisation software maker VMware have forged a strategic partnership to deliver cloud-based IT-as-a-Service solutions to financial institutions in Asia based on VMware’s vSphere and vFabric cloud application platform.
Hitachi’s IT-as-a-Service solutions based on VMware products will allow clients to simplify infrastructure management and and improve agility, all in a secure environment.
"Organizations across Asia are looking for ways to leverage modern IT infrastructures to achieve operational efficiency, increase scalability, and address critical business needs," said Ryoichi Nakazato COO of Information & Telecommunication Systems Company, Hitachi, MarketWire reports.
"Hitachi is now working with VMware to help financial institutions more easily realize the value of private cloud solutions and applications while providing the security and control they require," he added.
The combined Hitachi-VMware services will allow financial institutions to reduce system lifecycle costs, create a simplified infrastructure, reduce disaster recovery costs and reconfigure the system to adopt future innovations.
Cloud computing has been on the rise throughout the West and this strategic partnership is betting that the same trends will soon hit Asian markets.
