Skype 5.5 Beta Is Now Integrated With Facebook Chat

The all new Skype 5.5 beta for Windows now comes with a wide range of integrated Facebook features including Facebook Chat, MSNBC reports.

The new version will be handy for those Skype users who don't like to use more than one instant messaging programs for their different email IDs as well as social networking accounts.

The new version will also allow users to “like” or comment on their Facebook buddies’ status updates, without requiring them to log in to the site. There is also an additional dedicated Facebook contact tab.

Some other exciting new features include a new advanced Call Control Toolbar featuring renovated graphic icons, visual enhancement to place a call on hold as well as an improved phone-number-saving feature which makes saving on number in the “Call Phones” section much easier than before.

Until now Skype for Windows users could only access Facebook news feeds using the application platform, and make Skype calls or text messages to their Facebook buddies only if their phone numbers were provided in their Facebook profiles.
