LG Optimus 3D arrives a week early

Popular high-street mobile phone retailer Carphone Warehouse has announced it is exclusively stocking the LG Optimus 3D handset, a full week earlier than expected and in 20 stores.

LG’s Optimus 3D was unveiled at Mobile World Congress this year, as a handset that can display 3D images without the need for any special glasses where the phone also has the ability to capture 3D media and full 1080p HD video, in 2D.

The Carphone Warehouse stores that are stocking the LG Optimus 3D on July 1st are Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds, Manchester, two Glasgow shops, Birmingham, Cardiff, Oxford, Milton Keynes, Luton, two shops on Oxford Street, Thurrock, Croydon, Brighton, Southampton, High Wycombe, White City, Ealing and Best Buy shops in Hayes, Bristol, Nottingham and Rotherham.

LG’s Optimus 3D arrives with a dual-core 1Ghz OMAP4 processor, which is backed by dual-channel and dual-memory architecture that enhances the overall performance of the phone. As a result of this mighty prowess, the phone is very fast at running all that it has on-board, from 3D images and video capture to running 3D games, where there’s even a 3D UI to the Optimus handset.

The 3D mobile has a 4.3-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen, which displays all the 3D material and sans 3D glasses where the LG 3D TV screens do need those visual accessories. The dual lens 5 megapixel camera captures and records those 3D images up to 720P on video. All of this is displayable through the microHMI port to a compatible screen, or uploadable to YouTube’s own 3D channel.

Carphone Warehouse is selling the LG Optimus 3D on contracts that start from £35 a month, along with stocking the handset SIM free and unlocked for £499.95.
