T-Mobile has put the HTC Flyer tablet on its coming soon page with a release date for the month of July; the tablet is expected to be sold on a pay monthly contract.
It is very likely that the mobile phone operator will bundle the tablet with its new truly unlimited data tariff which has just been announced.
The Flyer was announced only a few months ago at the Mobile World Congress and its main selling point is its stylus which works with the tablet's capacitive screen.
Apart from its Qualcomm Snapdragon system on chip, the fastest on any tablet on the market at 1.5GHz, it has 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a 7-inch WSVGA capacitive screen, Wi-Fi, 3G and runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.
We kind of hope that HTC will be upgrading the Flyer in the future to accommodate the Android Honeycomb 3.2 which has been rolled out on Huawei's MediaPad tablet which also sports a 7-inch screen. Honeycomb 3.2 is apparently customised better to run on 7-inch tablets which normally have lower res screens.
The other company currently offering the HTC Flyer is Three UK which sells it for £25 per month on a two year contract with 15GB data. T-Mobile will also be offering the HTC Sensation super smartphone from July as well.
