Intego, a France based Mac OS X anti-virus maker, has dished out the first ever malware scanning app for iOS devices.  According to Computer World, the VirusBarrier app, having been approved by Apple, is now retailing at the app store for $2.99.

A new Smartphone study has estimated that Smartphone penetration in the UK will reach 50 percent in 2012. According to data revealed by research firm Kantar Worldpanel, since April 2010, 2.5 percent of feature phone owners have been moving to Smartphones every week and that Smartphone usage will reach a tipping point next year.

Enterprise networking services provider Citrix has moved to acquire Cloud.com, a cloud infrastructure management company. Cloud.com specialises in allowing clients to securely transfer data from a computer to a public cloud. Citrix informed that it plans to use Cloud.com’s technology to offer a platform for public clouds which is integrated with its NetScalerCloud Gateway and Cloud Bridge offerings, ZDNet reports.

An on-going case on Colorado, US based woman accused of mortgage scam will decide whether the US Department of Justice had forced people accused of crimes to decrypt their hard drives. Ramona Fricosu, accused of running a mortgage has refused to give the password for an encrypted laptop seized from her room.
