Internet search behemoth Google is speeding up the test of corporate accounts on its latest social networking offering Google Plus, the company revealed.
The decision to accelerate the process follows the “thousands upon thousands" of applications it received from numerous organisations for being a part of the program, according to a Google executive.
Currently, Google is considering the applications, and it will announce the names soon- sometimes during the coming week, said Christian Oestlien, a Google product manager, in a Google+ post.
“We will be closing this form on Friday (July 15th) at 6pm PST,” Mr. Oestlien said.
“To the thousands upon thousands of businesses that applied to be a part: THANK YOU! We won't be able to accommodate everyone, but your interest has got us very focused on accelerating our development plans,” he added.
It’s only been a week since Oestlien first revealed about the company's intention to release corporate accounts sometimes towards the end of the year. However, he refrained from mentioning how much longer it will take for this new accelerated approach before the plan is finally brought into effect.
