Real Estate Goes Social, Move Acquires SocialBios

Online real estate company Move has acquired social search platform SocialBios to offer a more social real estate search experience to its customers.

SocialBios allows individuals and businesses to create social hubs in the form of interactive ‘About Us’ pages. It allows people to put their entire social presence like their LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google accounts on a single page.

Move plans to integrate the SocialBios platform with its entire real-estate search platform. The company plans to develop new social products that will allow real-estate hunters to connect to real estate professionals based on their online presence.

"Real estate is inherently a social business. Today's search experience is highly interactive and instant with the explosion of mobile in real estate. We're uniquely positioned to lead our industry and connect people naturally through their social graph," said Scott Boecker, chief product officer at Move, Inc.

"This acquisition brings a new element of discovery and creativity to our online real estate marketplace as we evolve our web, mobile and social search experiences." he added.

The founders of the social network, which received the 2011 'Best Tech Startup' award at Inman Connect NYC, Ernie Graham, Ira McMahon and Andrew Van Tassel will be joining the product development team at Move.
