Phone Hacking Scandal Spreads To Key Members Of The Taliban

It seems that the News of the World isn't the only organisation capable of doing a bit of phone hacking on the side.

A Taliban spokesman has claimed that US intelligence agencies have been hacking both their cellphones and web sites in an attempt to disrupt the jihadist organisation.

Messages claiming that Taliban kingpin Mullah Mohammed Omar was dead were sent to several Taliban members according to thinq_

Apparently claims of the man's death have been greatly exaggerated with spokesman Zabihullah Nujahid telling CNN that the recent stories were, "just propaganda against our leader and our mission.”

Omar is a seldom-seen, one-eyed figure who tries not be be photographed or filmed and has reportedly met just two non-muslims in the past few years.

He has a $10 million bounty on his head.
