Samsung Galaxy S II hits 5million

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has unveiled their Galaxy S II flagship mobile phone has achieved another milestone, by selling 5,000,000 handsets.

Samsung has reached this figure in just 85 days and has exceeded the expected goal 40 days ahead of the original Galaxy S, where it’s replacement is now on sale in over 10 European countries.

The Galaxy S II has had strong sales in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland whilst being the number one selling mobile phone in many of them too.

Samsung’s Galaxy S II has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen, with a dual core processor and an 8 megapixel camera, along with HSPA+ 21Mbps capabilities in an 8mm thin case.

The Galaxy S II hasn’t even reached America yet, where the numbers are expected to gather even more momentum.

One Mobile Ring caught up with the Samsung Galaxy S II at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where we published a hands-on walkthrough in pictures here and a video here and also took stock of the device, for a more detailed walk-through here and a review here.
