Alpha Telecom has rolled out a MVNO network in partnership with Cognatel to offer cheap international and domestic call services.
The company, which has acquired more than 600,000 fixed line customers since its inception in 1996, plans to offer its MVNO service to around 40 percent of them by the end of this year. Alpha Telecom also plans to partner with around four UK distributors to sell SIM cards in the UK.
Alpha Telecom CEO Zafar Mirza said that the product was not only targeted towards people who want to make cheap international calls but also make cheap calls within the UK itself.
“We wanted to come up with a proposition that was unique compared to what’s in the market space at the moment. That is where we have derived the unlimited call package to UK and international landlines and mobiles, which no one has done to date,” Mirza said.
“Alpha Mobile is the ideal service for anyone wanting to save money in the UK and international calls when using their device.” he added.
It seems that Alpha mobile wants to capture the international calls market as it is planning to launch unlimited calls to fixed-line international numbers for as low as £30 a month.
