Sony Ericsson has hired former Vodafone executive Tim Harrison as its head of content & marketing strategy.
Harrison has worked with UK mobile operator Vodafone as its head of games and applications and has even worked with EA Mobile as its European marketing director. Before being hired by Sony Ericsson, Tim worked as a consultant for a number of mobile businesses.
He has been highly active in the gaming community, Pocket Gamer informs, having been the chairman of the Mobile Games Forum and has been on the advisory board of the Game Developers Conference.
While working at Sony Ericsson, Harrison has been assigned to focus on content development for its Xperia Play Android based gaming phone and drive the company’s content marketing undertakings.
The Xperia Play is a Sony PlayStation branded Smartphone device and Harrison has been charged with developing content for a crucial product, as Sony Ericsson is finally taking advantage of the popularity of the console.
"We are very pleased to welcome Tim to the team," said Dominic Neil-Dwyer, head of market development at Sony Ericsson.
"Gaming is a key focus for Sony Ericsson, and his relationships and experience will continue to accelerate the interest around Xperia Play and build our proposition as a whole."
