Pierre Cardin, a prominent name in the fashion industry has come up with the first ever designer tablet in the UK.
The new offering from the France based fashion house, dubbed PC-7006, features a 7 inch touchscreen, whereas the overall size of the device is more or less same as that of Research In Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook.
However, compared to other new tablet devices, the PC-7006 hardly features something that can thrill a hardcore tech enthusiast. With a 512 MB RAM, no rear camera, 3G access only via an attachable dongle and Android 2.2 Froyo, the device was probably built keeping in mind particularly the fashion-freaks.
About the size of the PC-7006, the device can hardly be termed as a “Size zero” model with its 1.4 inch thick casing, almost double than that of the Apple iPad.
This size difference did not stop Pierre Cardin from bragging about the device’s size, which it claims is “perfectly sized”. The tablet features a metallic Pierre Cardin logo and is accompanied by a black gift box.
According to the Pierre Cardin website, "the Pierre Cardin Tablet PC is perfectly sized to fit in the palm of your hand yet practical enough for life on the go,” technology site T3 reports.
