UK mobile phone operator Orange has launched its new Film to Go service which will allow its customers to rent a movie from iTunes for free every Thursday.
The company has partnered with Apple in a first of its kind service for its customers, to offer free movie downloads, which will include a ‘mix of recent iTunes releases and cinema classics, covering a variety of genre’.
However, Orange customers won’t have a choice in selecting the movie as Orange is going to select it for them.
Interested users will be required to text ‘filmtogo' to 85060 from their Orange phones to get a code on Thursday, which when submitted to the Orange Film to Go website or the Orange Film Club Facebook page will redirect to iTunes for the movie download. The text message will cost users 35p.
Orange users must keep in mind that the movie is going to be available for 30 days and that once they start watching the movie, they must finish it within 48 hours, after which it will automatically delete itself.
Spencer McHugh, brand director at Orange UK said: ‘We know Orange customers love film, so adding the Orange Film To Go service to our existing portfolio of film offers is hugely exciting for us.
This week, Orange is offering Norah Jones and Jude Law starrer ‘My Blueberry Nights’ as the first Orange Film to Go movie.
