Mobile phone operator Vodafone has announced that it will be shipping the newly released Blackberry Bold 9900 smartphone from the 16th of August, and is offering the handset on pre-order already.
The Bold 9900 will be available for free from £41 per month on a two year contract; which comes with 1200 any network minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB inclusive data allowance, 1GB BT Openzone WiFi access and 25MB per day in selected European countries.
Like the Blackberry Torch 9810, the Bold 9900 comes with RIM's new mobile operating system, the Blackberry OS 7, a 1.2GHz SoC, the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8655 and a five megapixel camera with HD video capabilities.
The main difference remains the input features; the Touch 9810 has no keyboard while the 9900 carries forward the signature QWERTY keboard (with optical touchpad) of its Bold predecessors, while also adding a full VGA capacitive touchscreen with a screen size of 2.8 inches.
As mentioned previously, the device - which weighs 130g and is 10.5mm thick - will also come with 768MB RAM, 8GB onboard storage with a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB cards, near field communication technology, an array of sensors, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1230mAh removable battery.
