Battlefield 3 Pre-orders 23 Times Its Predecessor's, Amazon Says

Leading online retailer Amazon has revealed that Battlefiled 3, the upcoming video game from the house of Electronic Arts (EA), has raked in a large number of pre-sale orders, shattering the claims of market sceptics who estimated poor sales for the title.

According to tech website Now Gamer, Amazon has released a statement announcing that pre-sale orders for Battlefield 3, which is still three months away from the actual launch, are a whopping 2,302 per cent greater in comparison to the orders made for its predecessor, Battlefield 2 in the year 2005.

Interestingly, Amazon has seen a hike in pre-sale orders for all games listed on its sales page this year. The report suggests that Gears of War 3 has seen a 216 per cent hike in pre-orders in comparison to Gears of War 2, while FIFA 12 has managed 325 per cent more orders than FIFA 11.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which is due to be released on November 8th this year, has been ordered 321 per cent more times than its predecessor Call of Duty: Black Ops, while the video game Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, due for release on 1st November, has been ordered 488 per cent more than Uncharted 2.

Battlefield 3 has made great progress as the game is now available on a variety of gaming consoles including: Xbox 360 and PS3, unlike Battlefield 2 which was only available for PC, which probably goes a long way to explaining the huge leap in sales.
