HP To Sell Pre 3 For £46 In UK

HP will sell the unlocked version of the Pre 3 for as little as $75 (£46) in France and the UK according to a report from PC Magazine; the handset will not go on sale in the US and is already out of stock in Germany.

A spokesperson told the tech news website that the handset would go on sale shortly and will send more details as soon as possible; it is not known whether mobile phone operators who had stocked the handset will reflect the new price drop.

The Pre 3 was introduced just a few days ago and had a suggested retail price of 349 Euros in France and £299 in the UK, which means that the discount will be near to 80 per cent, on the same level as the Touchpad which went on sale for £89 yesterday and which sold thousands in just a few hours.

The handset, which sticks to the same form factor as the previous Pre smartphones, comes with a larger, sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 3.6-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 clocked at 1.4GHz, a five megapixel camera with AF & flash, Wi-Fi, 8GB onboard storage, 512MB RAM, a front-facing camera and the latest version of Web OS.
