Salesforce to Introduce New Social Networking Software

At Saleforce’s Dreamforce conference, the company plans to introduce the social enterprise concept to be achieved through three routes - social, mobile and open source.

Salesforce platforms like Chatter Now, Chatter Customer Groups, Chatter Approvals, Chatter Service and Data.com allow organisations to adopt social apps to interact with both employees and customers.

The company also announced that touch.salesforce.com will come equipped with HTML5 capability will allow organisations to access optimised versions of Salesforce and native Force.com apps from the iPad, iPhone and Android devices.

Salesforce also plans to use Heroku for Java, Chatter Connect and Database.com to deliver an open and social platform.

“Our social enterprise vision fundamentally changes how companies collaborate, share and manage information," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "By creating social customer profiles, employee social networks, customer social networks and product social networks, companies can delight their customers in entirely new ways."

Almost a year old, the company's Chatter social platform for enterprise is being used by more than 100,000 companies around the world.
