UK Mobile Phone Service Provider Everything Everywhere Launches Mobile TV Platform

UK mobile phone services provider Everything Everywhere has launched a new mobile TV platform for Orange and T-Mobile customers.

The company developed the platform with the help of Red Bee Media which will run the service on its RedPlayer.

The service will allow users to get live TV program streams on their smartphones and tablet devices.

The company, which is quite optimistic about the product, claims that customers will be able to receive live streams from more than 40 popular TV channels including ITV1, ITV2, Eurosport, ITN News, Sky News, Sky Sports 1, CNN and National Geographic.

This is the first time tablet device users will be able to view live TV content on their devices, the company said, adding that the content streams will be optimised for the device they are being streamed to.

“The new delivery platform is just the start, and we have several significant developments planned for our service over the next 12 months which will really transform the way consumers view mobile TV,” said Everything Everywhere director of products, Paul Jevons.

“We’ll also be looking at new technologies as they become available, including the ability to stream 3D content to handsets with 3D capable screens – so our customers will only continue to receive the best services we are able to offer them,” he added.
