Noon News: UK's Coolest Brands Lists Tech Firms, Xoom 4g Upgrade Announced, Flickr Android App

Tech firms have managed to bag five spots in the newly released list of coolest brands in the United Kingdom. According to the list of the coolest brands in the UK compiled by CoolBrands, iPad maker Apple came in the second spot.

Users of Motorola’s Xoom tablet device can now upgrade their machines to run on Verizon’s 4G network, it has been announced. Motorola and Verizon announced that Xoom users interested in upgrading their devices 4G would need to register and send their devices to Verizon for the hardware upgrade.

Yahoo owned photo sharing platform Flickr has dished out its official Android app which comes with instant share and shoot features. The app, which was launched by Yahoo during a press event for highlighting its mobile strategy, gives users access to their Flickr photos, albums and contact lists.

Intel owned security software firm McAfee has beaten its competition to dish out the first all-in-one security solution, which covers all the devices owned by the user. The company managed to release the product before Kaspersky and Norton.

IBM has announced that it is joining forces with Streetline, a privately held firm, in order to come up with a unique system which will be able to track parking patterns on its own, thus helping municipalities and car-owners in decreasing congestion.
