AT&T to Release 19 Android Devices for 2011; Motorola ATRIX 2 and Samsung Captivate Slide Included

by Erica Thinesen, 11 Oct, 2011 News

With the announcement of five new Android devices by AT&T, the number Android-powered devices carried by AT&T hits 19 this year.

The five Android devices announced by AT&T include the Motorola ATRIX 2, Samsung Double Time, Samsung Captivate Glide, Pantech Pocket and AT&T Avail.

The most lucrative and scintillating smartphones are the ATRIX 2 and the Captivate Glide. Both are available with 4G HSPA+ for up to 21 Mbps downloads that depend upon the network.

Other features include 1GHz dual core processors along with 8 megapixel camera with LED Flash and full HD video recording and a 4.3 qHD display on the Motorola ATRIX 2. The Capitivate Slide features a 4 inches WVGA super AMOLED screen.

The Captivate Glide has a slide out QWERTY keyboard along with 1GB ROM, 1GB of RAM and a 8GB microSD pre-installed card. Even though ATRIX 2 does not have an integrated board, it can be paired with Motorola’s Lapdock 100 notebook style docking station and has 6 GB internal memory and 1GB RAM.

Regarding the pricing of the devices, the wireless carrier has yet to make an announcement. AT&T, which planned to release 12 Android devices in this year, is definitely ahead of its target.
