'The AOL Editor's Room', New Platform for Web Editors and Publishers; Includes 250,000 Video Clips

AOL has designed a new platform to allow web editors to add premium video content to their websites.

The AOL Editor’s Room platform not only gives web editors and publishers access to more than 250,000 premium video offerings, it also allows video content providers to generate ad revenue from their premium content.

The company said the platform has been designed keeping editors in mind and features an ad-free user interface that allows web editors to search and embed premium video to their websites easily.

“Through our longstanding relationship with publishers, we know one of the top pain points they face is increasing revenue on video,” said senior vice president of AOL Video, Ran Harnevo.

“The Editors Room not only offers editors a quick and easy way to discover and embed premium video content with their stories, it also offers publishers the opportunity to monetize and increase their yield per page,” he added.

The platform provides access to more than 250,000 premium videos from media entities like BBC News, Hearst, Meredith, GigaOM, blip.tv and Bonnier, and many more. Editor’s Room has been beta tested by the Huffington Post Media Group.
