The week began with One Mobile Ring publishing a hands-on walkthrough and the unboxing pictures of the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray, along with a piece about that there will soon be more mobile phones than people on the planet. Later on in the week, RIM CIO publically apologises for the recent service outage of the BlackBerry services and Apple released a new operating system for iPhone handsets, iPad tablet and other devices. A new Opera web browser for Android was released with cost cutting measures, Nokia launched two new phones with web browsing compression and Motorola Mobility announces the Atrix 2 mobile phone – whilst we published an update to the BlackBerry servers suffer outage.

At the end of the week, OMR brought out a feature on the iOS 5, with its abilities listed, noted and explained, along with another feature of all the Apple iPhone 4S prices and in an easy to read table, with all the costs added up for the whole contract duration. Samsung’s Google Nexus Prime and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich launch is coming next week, where the Samsung Galaxy Note is launching in the next two weeks. 63-percent of BlackBerry users would now switch, Samsung Galaxy Y ‘Youth’ mobile phone is now available with Vodafone and One Mobile Ring published ‘Top 10 tell tale signs your mobile phone needs upgrading’.

The biggest story of the week came from Research In Motion who experienced issues with it servers, which affected BlackBerry handsets all across Europe.

The next most significant piece was when the Apple iPhone4S become available to buy on Friday and from all the mobile phone networks. One Mobile Ring has compiled all the prices and tariff details here , for all the networks and for the whole contract duration - in the form of a table.

The third largest news item came from RIM's UK Managing Director Stephen Bates, who took to the stage at London’s third BlackBerry Innovation Forum with One Mobil Ring in attendance, to apologise for their network outage that has resulted in intermittent loss of service throughout EMEA.

The following most significant story was when One Mobile Ring published an exclusive interview with Anthony Payne, Research In Motion’s Director of Platform Marketing at London’s BlackBerry Innovation Forum - in order to get to the bottom of their service outage since Monday which has affected the whole of EMEA.

The fifth biggest piece was Apple making available its latest iOS 5 platform, which is ready to be downloaded and installed for Apple iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPad 2, iPod touch 3rd and 4th generation of their devices.

The next most significant news came when Apple announced the sales of the Apple handset has broken the last record of 600,000 in one day, with a million iPhones 4S being pre-ordered on the very first day.

The seventh largest story was Samsung unveiling news will be released about Android on October 19th, from an event in Hong Kong which will also be live streamed on YouTube.

The following most significant item came from Everything Everywhere and BT Wholesale starting the UK’s first next generation 4G LTE network, with 200 people in Cornwall.

The penultimate piece of news was when Everything Everywhere announcing that mobile phones on either T-Mobile or Orange will be able to roam between each other’s networks, for a 3G signal.

Lastly, Google mobile phone company Motorola Mobility has released a video for a new device being launched on Tuesday 18th October, which promises to be faster, thinner, smarter and stronger.
