Desktop office iPhone is now available

For use with an Apple handset

Community technology website Thumbs Up World is carrying details of the Desktop Phone for the iPhone 4, which transforms an Apple handset into a regular office phone that can be used to make calls.

The device has been purposely designed to look like a classic desktop phone which can be used as a docking station for the Apple iPhone, where it can also charge the device in addition to being actually be used to receive and make calls – as if it was a real office phone.

The dock features a hands-free mode that’s activated by simply holding down the function button, with the possibility of making and receiving video calls too.

Whilst it is in the cradle it is easy to add new data, search the phonebook, schedule the calendar and make notes while you’re still on the phone.

This desktop iPhone is also compatible with Apple’s iPods, whilst acting as a speaker dock by simply connecting the MP3 player to the docking station and using the function button on the handset to  control the music player.

It is also possible to recharge the connected iPhone, by just plugging the handset in as normal to a computer or the mains where the non-slip rubberised finish makes sure the mobile sits safely and securely into the cradle.

The Desktop Phone for iPhone 4 is available from Gadget.co.uk for £19.99.
