HTML 5 Based Vivid Entertainment App Brings Dedicated Porn Channel to Google TV

A Los Angeles based porn studio Vivid Entertainment has launched an app that can be used on Google's Google TV platform for streaming explicit content.

Vivid has chosen to create a HTML 5 based optimised app to be accessed from the Google TV platform.

Google TV, the search engine giant's IPTV project, allows people to surf the web for video content using connected set-top-boxes and soon they will also have access to Android apps on the platform.

Vivid said that it had gotten no help from Google in creating the app and was yet to receive a feedback from the company. The website offers a huge porn collection, including celebrity tapes and access to HD movies.

"It is a central part of our making Vivid available everywhere concept, which gives fans unified access to our content through their personal computers, mobile devices, tablets, television sets and DVD players," Steven Hirsch, Vivid's founder and co-chairman, said in a statement.

Google meanwhile, played it cool and merely acknowledged the availability of the website. It also gave users ways to block access to undesirable websites and apps.
