Asus has shed more light on its forthcoming Eee Pad Transformer Prime tablet which will be the first device on the market to come with the Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC, a quad core monster that we believe will be clocked at 1.4GHz.
The tablet comes with six unique selling points according to Asus; Incredibly Beautiful, Ultra Performance, Amazing Camera, Super IPS+ panel, Supreme Sound and Mobile Dock. Note that Superb Value for money is not one of them.
Asus has also managed to slash the thickness of the tablet to a mere 8.3mm making it one of the thinnest on the market. In comparison, the just announced Samsung Galaxy Nexus is 8.5mm thick. Furthermore, at 537g, it falls into the same category as the iPad 2 and the Galaxy Tab.
Another notable feature is that Asus has managed to improve the responsiveness of the touchscreen from 110ms to 50ms.
As for the hardware, apart from the Tegra 3, there's 1GB RAM, 32GB or 64GB onboard storage (no 16GB option), a 1280x800 pixel 10.1-inch LED backlit display, an eight megapixel camera with a 1.2-megapixel front facing one, a microSD card reader, microHDMI output and an optional dock.
