Search engine giant Google has announced that it is bringing its highly popular +1 button to images on the web.
In a blog post, the company said that when users conduct an image search on Google, they would be able to see the +1 button on them, which would allow them to share the images that they like with their friends on Google+.
"You search for [Mount Kilimanjaro summit] and switch to Images mode to find rows and rows of photos testifying that this peak can indeed be conquered. By hovering over one of the images, you can quickly recommend this photo to your friends by clicking the +1 button," Google explained.
The company said that users would be required to log in with their Google Accounts in order to see and use the +1 button. Google also said that users would also be required to have an account on Google + in order to use the new feature.
Google informed that like other content, users will be able to see their +1s from the +1 tab on their Google + profiles. They will also be able to see which images their friends have recommended using the +1 button.
