The lead actor for GTA V has been revealed as TV actor Ned Luke. You might know him from Law and Order, All My Children, As The World Turns or a variety of other TV shows in which he's played a part.
The announcement wasn't made by GTA developer, Rockstar, however - a friend of Luke's, fellow actor Jimmy Taenaka, let it slip on Twitter with the post:
"my fellow thespian Ned Luke is the lead voice and profile in the upcoming game by Rockstar Grand Theft Auto 5! Way to go Ned! Wholly Molly!"
As if he felt he hadn't done enough promotion with the impromptu announcement, he later followed up, slipping in that the information was still unofficial:
"@RockstarGames #GTAV looks awesome! it's not official but I know that voice and look #NedLuke He is bigger & badder than Statham... lookout."
Not content with that, Taenake tweeted again - only this time he was a little more coy with the information. His final tweet in relation to the voice actor for the protagonist was:
"GTA 5 playaz across the globe! I just recognized the voice & profile - that's all I can say respectfully. I am looking forward to GTA 5 :-)"
Further evidence suggests that the slip was indeed accurate, with the game's IMDb page now listing Mr Luke as the voice of 'Albert De Silva'. Also, despite his hypnotising blue eyes, Mr Luke does look quite like the protagonist seen in the trailer released a couple weeks ago.
The latest official announcement from GTA developer Rockstar was confirmation of some of the locations players would visit during the game. GTA V has been described as the biggest and most ambitious of the series so far, with San Andreas' sub-city Los Santos making up the majority of the game.
