Apple has released an update for the iBooks ebook reading and purchasing app which has new features like additional fonts and night time reading mode.
The iBooks 1.5 comes with a 'Night Them', which turns the background black and text white, so users are able to read books on the app in a dark room without disturbing any one else.
Apart from adding some performance enhancements, the app now also comes with a full screen mode, which removes the unnecessary parts like book jacket graphics, rounded corners and stacked pages to offer a more real experience to users.
The company has also added new fonts to the app including Athelas, Charter, Iowan, and Seravek but has also removed Baskerville, Cochin, and Verdana fonts from it.
Apple said in the iBooks update page that the app now comes with beautifully designed covers for public domain books.
Apple also said that the app comes with "a redesigned annotation palette makes it easier to choose a colour for your highlighted text." This feature will come in handy for customising the reading experience and for maintaining information for referencing purposes.
