BlackBerry Porsche P'9981 Gets FCC Clearance

Research in Motion's Porsche Design BlackBerry P'9981 has received approval from FCC and this would see the latest addition to the BlackBerry family hit the market pretty soon.

The P'9981 is like a luxurious version of the BlackBerry 9900 series. The device has been a subject of a lot of rumours and leaks over time but, the official announcement about the phone from RIM came in the month of October.

The new model passed by FCC along with the support for AT&T's GSM 850/1900 and WCDMA bands II and V.

The filing by Research in Motion discloses that the device supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and according to earlier disclosure it has HD video recording, a 1.2GHz processor, 24-bit graphics, along with advanced sensors for augmented reality technology, reported Slash Gear.

The unique identity of this BlackBerry is its angular design, giving it a striking look that would definitely gain attention. Till now the company has not announced the exact date of its release neither have they declared its price. According to rumours the device will cost around $2,000.

To be powered by BlackBerry OS 7, this new device might help BlackBerry to attain prominence in the market.
