Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.0; Companion for Solarius 11 OS

The Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.0 brings high availability and disaster recovery capabilities to the Oracle Solaris 11 operating system.

The new cluster allows organisations to use Solaris 11 to manage mission critical workloads in public, private and hybrid clouds and data centres.

The platform, integrated with Oracle SPARC SuperCluster T4-4, features an instant failure detection system and fast recovery times. It is also capable of being easily integrated with third party and in-house applications.

"Oracle Solaris Cluster 4.0 delivers unrivaled high availability on Oracle Solaris 11 for enterprise applications and databases and offers comprehensive capabilities for keeping customer's most demanding applications up and running in the face of nearly every conceivable situation," said executive vice-president, Oracle Systems, John Fowler

"Customers can now combine the additional critical HA and DR features of Oracle Solaris Cluster with the new cloud-ready features of Oracle Solaris 11 to help simplify their infrastructure, significantly reduce planned and unplanned downtime and protect mission critical applications in both traditional and cloud deployments," he added, as reported by CBR.
