Google has launched a brand new version of its Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system platform-version 4.0.3.
With this announcement, the Android maker also confirmed the update will available in a few days to select few smartphone and tablet devices.
"Today we are announcing Android 4.0.3, an incremental release of the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) platform," the company announced in the Android-developers blog.
"The new release includes a variety of optimisations and bug fixes for phones and tablets, as well as a small number of new APIs for developers. The new API level is 15," it added.
The update is accompanied by a handful of enhancements made in certain aspects of the platform, including calendar provider enhancements, upgraded camera capabilities, accessibility refinements alongside significant improvements made in Bluetooth connectivity, spell checking, graphics-quality as well as database to name a few.
