Apple has decided to get into the Christmas spirit, giving Santa a hand organising his annual present-distributing journey via the Siri feature of the iPhone 4S.
Designed to showcase the features of Siri, a voice-activated 'personal assistant' originally designed for all iOS devices but turned into an iPhone 4S exclusive when Apple bought the company behind the app, the advert shows Santa using one of the company's flagship smartphones to make his journey significantly easier.
Using Siri's ability to download and parse data from the internet, Santa gets directions, scheduling advice and even weather forecasts without having to lift a finger.
It's a clever advert, and one that will help put Apple's technology at the forefront of everyone's mind this Christmas - but it remains to be seen how effective it is at actually selling iPhones.
With an iPhone 4S costing several hundred pounds, and often coming with an eighteen month mobile contract which requires additional monthly payments, it seems unlikely many will be buying an iPhone 4S for their loved ones this Christmas - with or without Santa's seal of approval on the device.
The advert, which is currently airing in the US, is reproduced below.
