A part purportedly belonging to the next generation iPad, which a number of pundits are expecting to be released in early Spring 2012, has been doing the rounds online.
The picture, which was discovered on the TVC-Mall website, shows what is apparently a microphone 'mic flex cable replacement' for the iPad 3.
By the looks of it, the unit is pretty different from what we know from the Apple's second generation tablet, especially in the way it is shaped. Is this an indication of major re-design of the iPad 3?
Here's what CydiaBlog (who first noticed the 'leak') thinks about it:
"The new part, when compared with iPad 2, shows a different arrangement in internal circuitry, hinting a major re-design. The tail end of the part makes a "U-turn", whereas the iPad 2′s Microphone Mic Flex Cable makes almost 90-degree turn both ways."
If we are to listen to the rumours buzzing around the internet, the iPad 3 could be out as early as February 2012, sporting a high resolution 2048x1536 pixel display; it could also have 4G LTE connectivity, include wireless chips for CDMA and GSM, an A6 processor and a lot more RAM, as well as updated bluetooth, USB 3.0 and NFC technology.
