Microsoft has confirmed that some Xbox Live users are currently experiencing errors since the most recent 'Fall Update' to its Xbox 360 games console, and promises that a fix is incoming.
The errors, showing on consoles as an "Error Code 801540B7" or "Error Code 80070571," prevent the users from downloading existing profiles from the Xbox Live servers - meaning no access to any downloadable content or digital distribution games that have been purchased.
"We have recently identified an Xbox Live profile data error that results in Error Code '801540B7' for a small number of Xbox Live members. The error instructs users to attempt to re-download their Xbox Live profile and directs them to customer service support for further assistance," a Microsoft spokesperson told Joystiq, following a request for comment on the matter. "We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused to our loyal Xbox Live members and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible."
While the problem is not known to be directly related to the recent 'Fall Update,' which added a new Metro UI-themed user interface to the console, the timing seems at least coincidental.
