Asus to Release Transformer Prime Tablet 7-Inch

Asus is reportedly planning to unveil a 7-inch version of its Transformer Prime tablet device at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

According to tech website Notebook Italia, the new Asus device will be called the Asus Transformer Prime Mini and will come with a 7-inch screen.

The Asus Transformer Prime has been gaining a lot of popularity over the past few weeks, scoring great reviews across the board. It is only natural for the company to build on the brand as much as it can.

While the large screen tablet will help it compete with the iPad, the 7-inch version will also allow it to take on Amazon's Kindle Fire, which sold 1 million units every week in December last year.

Meanwhile, Notebook Italia also informs that the Transformer Prime Mini will be among the 3 tablets Asus plans to unveil at the CES, the other two being the Asus Padfone and a new 7-inch iteration of the Eee Memo Pad, as reported by Techradar.

Interestingly, the Asus Transformer Prime has been getting a lot of press over the fact that Hasbro, the creator of the popular ‘Transformers' franchise plans to lob a copyright infringement lawsuit on Asus.
