Motorola Customers Collect Signatures for Unlockable Bootloaders

Motorola, just like Sony Ericsson and HTC, made a promise to deliver products with unlockable bootloaders. In fact, the company went a step further and stated that by late 2011 all their products would come with unlockable bootloaders subject to approval of the carriers.

But unlike the other two companies, Motorola failed to deliver what they promised. And now this seems to have annoyed consumers a lot. And the non responsive attitude by company has forced one individual to take a unique initiative.

This individual has started Operation: Make Ourselves Heard and has collected signatures of around 1,600 people with same opinion. All these like minded people are seeking tangible progress from this company. It a petition against Motorola posted on Change.org and it is a strong reminder of the failed promise the company made.

Interestingly, this is not the first time such an action has been taken by consumers. Another petition was started and more than 11,240 signatures were collected for the same cause. However, the still company refuses to rethink and take action to encrypt the bootloaders on phones manufactured by them, reports Droid Matters.
