The big clearout of 2011 Android smartphones is currently under way, with at least one retailer, e_cell, discounting the LG Optimus 3D P920 smartphone down to £300.
The smartphone is unlocked and unbranded and comes with a full 12-month warranty but without any accessories apart from the charger.
Like the Prada Phone by LG 3.0, the P920 is powered by a TI OMAP4430 chipset clocked at 1GHz, with a 4.3-inch 800x480 pixel 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen.
It has 8GB onboard storage and 512MB dual channel RAM as well as a microSD card slot which can accommodate a 32GB card (available for around £18).
Other features include two five megapixel cameras which can record pictures in 3D and video content in 3D (720p) and in 2D (1080p), a front facing camera, GPS, microUSB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 1500mAh battery and an HDMI port.
It runs on Android 2.2 Froyo but will receive Ice Cream Sandwich later this year despite running on only 512MB RAM. The Optimus 3D can already be upgraded to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Whether LG will release an overhauled version of the smartphone remains to be seen, given how tepid the market for 3D mobile devices was in 2011.
